paying homage to the original cub prawl that went down many moons ago, a select cadre of intrepid bojon aficionados set off from the upper haight to retrace the charmed path that bounces from pub to pub down through the lower haight, ultimately landing somewhere in the vicinity of city hall.
as tradition dictates, we tipped things off at murio's trophy room. (well, actually, the pre-game debauchery got underway at agent kevlar's flat on page street, but such festivities never make the box score).
off to the races as a glorious sunny day paved the way. not feeling a tremendous obligation to do everything according to the script we hit the ZamZam for some cocktails and were well received...
but then we crossed over to tap martin mack's to keep some things as they were before. but alas, a padlock let us know that not everything twas of the same order.
hmmm, ok then, onward with an open mind and an adventurer's curiosity. and the good sense to pick up the Gold Cane, one of the legendary spots we somehow missed in the original foray.
and then onto club deluxe, another classic that time has not touched.
we hit molotov's in the lower haight but just may have slid past the mad dog in the fog due to the squirrely nature of the situation.
fond memories of yesteryear had us fired up to congregate at the rickshaw stop... but another padlock greeted us abruptly. and we were sad.
ever resilient, we redirected to the absinthe and likely caused a stir.
and, oh yeah, this year's installation had a destination. as good fortune would have it, phil lesh and friends were playing the bill graham auditorium on this particular eve, and we spilled into the show in grand form just in time to catch the insanely talented jackie greene making sweet melody.
book it most righteous. not sure when we prawl again, but this cub is in on board...
be that as it may, our season amounted to a modest effort that took us to a groovy cabin near homewood and two grand days on the slopes at alpine.
agent jimmy nies was our sponsor, and he and his wife, shannon, hooked us up.
ski school was our friend as well, as the ladies bojon joined forces with princess jordyn and had themselves lots o fun.

and if more validation is needed, take Exhibit A: jackie's been chillin' with phil lesh of late and has been playing along with Phil Lesh & Friends. in fact, here's an article worth reading about how phil and jackie came to be friends.
jackie first hit the bojon radar screen last summer when he opened on the main stage the saturday of the Outlands Music Festival. two chords into his set, he caught our ears, and we've been paying attention ever since.
most recently we caught jackie at a sold out show at the Great American Music Hall, one of the sweetest music venues in San Francisco. the show totally ripped, and to top it off jackie was joined by bob weir and phil lesh for his middle set.
here are a couple vids from the scene:

[EDITOR'S NOTE: FOR THOSE SCORING AT HOME, THE BOJON BUZZ HAS BEEN SILENT THE LAST FIVE MONTHS DUE TO A DATABASE GLITCH AT THE HOSTING COMPANY.
BUT ALAS, A CONSULTANT AT ENDEVVER HAS SUCCESSFULLY RESTORED THE DATABASE, AND A NEW HOSTING ARRANGEMENT AT STRANGECODE HAS STABILIZED THE SERVER SITUATION.
NOW, BACK TO OUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAMMING...]
whoosh... time marching on as witnessed by a cadre of the bojon elders hitting notable age milestones and the appearance of bojon toddlers at many of the festivities along the way.
but, fortunately, the good times continue to roll as the young at heart willfully find ways to keep things from getting too buttoned up.
lots of good music in the air, more than a few birthday bashes, and the joy that comes from welcoming a new soul to this earth.
