Bodacious Ta-Tas
"And all of a sudden I was just bombarded with beads and it was so amazing because there is nothing like the thrill of flashing and having people enjoy it so much that they reward you with these little plastic things. You want them all, they're so sparkly and fun."
- Girls Gone Wild, Bojon Carnival II
ah yeah, the Kingdom of Bojon is getting jazzed for our upcoming mardi gras party this friday, february 4th at the Dirty Martini in san francisco.
the flight plan calls for some live funk, tasty hurricanes and beads galore.
the Dirty Martini is located at 2801 Leavenworth at Beach near Fisherman's Wharf. this is a new venue for the Bojon crew, and so come on out and help us break in the joint. the party starts at 9pm and will go 'til 2am.
Bojon favorites, Justi-Fi, will be leading the live music charge, offering up a high energy combination of hip-hop and old-school funk. a crafty resident DJ will be spinning a wide mix of grooves before and after the band.
2 for 1 Hurricane drink specials and an array of bodacious beads fresh from the French Quarter will round out this high octane affair.
advance tix will be available for this bojon gig via the site through friday at noon. tix will be available at the door the night of the show.
so come on out this friday and get your mardi gras on!!!

Touch Me, Baby
the past two weekends brought about a double shot of Tainted Love, an uber-tight 80s cover band that easily out-freeze-frames the J Giles Band.
first on the docket was a private birthday party in sonoma that tapped the band to bring the human league to the wine country.
good call. a real treat to catch these cats in an intimate environment.
and then, a sold out show at bimbos that delivered the goods in a larger setting.
here are a couple clips of the two scenes:
the bimbos gig was actually one part leisure and one part labor, as Agent Under_30 led the charge to not only enjoy the evening but also promote the upcoming Bojon Mardi Gras party.
here are a couple of snaps from the scene:

a couple of the recruits...
and a couple more...

Wet Your Whistle
sweet little bojaunt to the great white north this past week to carve some turns at whistler/blackcomb.
the Bojon crew was in fine form, and we thoroughly enjoyed the vastness of the canadian rockies.
here are a few clips of the action:
and as big as the mountain goes by day, whistler village arguably goes even bigger at night. the drinking age of 19 leads to an average age in the bars of about 17. the net result is a densely marinated recess that gets pretty rowdy and ultimately outright sloppy.
our gang kept things under wraps for the most part during the late night scene. rather, we did most of our damage during happy hour, setting up shop each day at one of the base bars for the full-fledged apres ski experience.
here are a few other shots from the excursion:
upper mountain pow wow...
ladies night...
smokin' the bowl...
sista sian gettin' it on...
solo leading the way...
sporting the colors...
third form revisited...
guide well led...
peaking...

Let It Snow
it doesn't just snow in tahoe. it dumps. we're not talking a few inches here, a few inches there. we're talking a few FEET here, a few FEET there [pic above is from our deck overlooking the lake - table and chairs totally buried].
and this past holiday week provided a quintessential tahoe blizzard. it snowed hard. really hard. every day. check out the snowfall tracker on the squaw website.
yep, that's right. close to six feet fell at the top of squaw over a three day period.
TITS.
the powder riding was spectacular. almost too much powder in some places. made boarding on some of the flatter areas a challenge. bury the nose, and you found yourself hiking out of the trees. and, take note, if you haven't done it before, waking in chest high snow is a work out.
the tops of alpine and squaw were closed a few days because of high winds, but the better part of northstar was open most days, and the backside tree runs there were premo.
a collection of the Bojon crew caught up for dinner as we ushered in the new year.
we also got a chance to expose lady Bojon to the snow for the first time. she liked the taste of it.
let's hope for more of the white fluffy stuff as the winter season continues...
